Is it just me or is the Solar Portal completely annoying ?!?? I am able to access the Financial Aid Award letter but it does not include Direct or Indirect Cost of Attendance. Has anyone been able to find it in the portal??
It’s there under “cost” in super small letter. Yes, annoying! It also will link to the main website for costs.

Daughter applied 10/19!! Even if she gets in she’s not going. She’s committed elsewhere & not sure why we even care at this point. She got into much more competitive schools. Side note & not sure why I’m bringing this up. I know SB is alot of people’s dream school but does anyone else have a typo on the status message. It says 'we let you know once a decision is made. Instead of we’ll. I know it’s petty but but it burns me every time for the past 5 months I have to stare at it - lol!

It is actually grammatically correct, is it not? Just not expressed in the way you typically see it. The construction is equivalent to “The bank closes once the last customer is taken care of.” Like describing a “rule.”
I’m probably incorrect but I would think it should be we’ll as in we will let you know vs we let you know. I hope I’m not incorrect since I’m being so petty.
it’s just so irritating because this was my top “realistic” choice. ugh!

They sent me an email ten days ago saying, “This year Stony Brook University received a record number of applications from many talented students for a very limited number of positions in the following programs: Honors College, WISE, Scholars for Medicine, and University Scholars.” So is there any chance that they accepted my scholars for dental med?

Waitlisted. Apply elsewhere and if you are accepted make a deposit but you’ll lose your deposit to the other school

you have to send in a deposit to a different school. If you get off the waitlist, then you can go, but you’ll lose the deposit money you originally sent.
