I have no idea which one (Stony Brook or University at Buffalo) to choose. I want to major in computer science and business administration. Any opinions about these 2 schools are very, very welcome.

Why every time I ask some question on this forum there is NO REPLIES? What's going on with guys? It's so hard to press few keys and write some info about schools I'm considering to attend. This forum is the worst I've ever seen

I don't know anything about Buffalo, but I'm pretty sure that computer science is a strong area for Stony Brook. I lived right next to the university for 7 years. I can tell you that it's not a typical college campus - it's huge and not very close-knit, especially because it's located in the suburbs of L.I. An obvious plus is its proximity to NYC which is great, but even by train it's an hour away. Socially, there is pretty much NOTHING to do in Stony Brook, except a few good shopping malls and movie theaters, unless you're willing to travel into the city often. However, you're pretty close to the Hamptons and the beaches in the summer there are fabulous.

If I were you, I think I would choose Stony Brook primarily for the opportunities in NYC. I get the feelin that you'd be more exposed to the economy of the city and have more hands-on experience at Stony Brook than at Buffalo, just because it's so much closer to Manhattan.

Good luck with your decision.

I would definitely say Stonybrook. I think that overall, academically, it's much better than Buffalo. I live on Long Island and there really is more to do than you think, also.
