Storytime: I goofed on the GW app :/

Hello my fellow CC peers,

I have a story to tell you about my GWU mistake. Okay so I didn’t realize I wanted to apply to GW until I think mid-November, and basically, I’m dumb and procrastinated my college essays until December. Wait for it though, I went on a trip for the last two weeks of December, thinking I was going to get it done, but obviously I didn’t. So what ended up happening was I worked on my GW app on the 22 hr airplane trip. I landed back in the US on the 1st and went X-GAME mode to turn in my app by like 9 pm.
What I failed to realize was that FAFSA and CSS were due that day as well. So, I did what anyone would do and submitted my FA stuff on the 15th. I received an email from them to provide an SSN a few days ago, and I’m not sure what it meant, but the FAFSA and CSS check marks on the portal are not there. I also forgot to submit the W2 or whatever they needed (Sidenote: Maybe I’m just dumb, but the section where it said to send in the tax forms were very unclear to me). What did I expect? Amirite guys?
Anyways, I wanted to leave this story on CC to warn the juniors to start college apps early and keep an eye out for deadlines. I hope this story also brings you a little bit of laughter (even if it is at my stupidity) at a stressful time. The experience definitely shook me a little bit, but at the end, I knew GW wasn’t a fit for me (it would be better if you all got in instead!). Also, I just think this is a really funny story now.

I won’t be at GWU next year, but I hope you all will be.

LOL (lots of luck),

P.S. how ironic is my username?

Please don’t comment hate today, maybe tomorrow. Today, I was yelled at by a gas station attendant, but that’s a story for another time.

From what I’ve heard from current college students and admissions officers, financial aid deadlines are not nearly as stringent as the deadlines for your actual application. Don’t take my word for it, but if they do want to accept you, I doubt that a late FAFSA submission would make an admissions officer want to change their mind. So if you haven’t already, finish all your financial aid applications if you do want to go to GWU, you might still have a chance!

This made my day, it’s okay, I prob won’t be going to GW either. Lol
