Straight Bs in Major Prep

Hello,

In an attempt to get as many of my prerequisites done before transfer, I enrolled in 3 tough major prep classes this fall. I received straight B’s in Calculus I, Gen. Chemistry ll, and Physics- Mechanics. I’m very proud of myself because the semester was a gauntlet, but I did want to know how this effects my transfer chances. Do UC’s consider “difficulty of semester” or something like that in the admissions process? I’m an engineering major with the following apps under review.

UCR- Environmental Engineering
UCLA- Engineering Geology

My GPA is now a 3.76 down from a 3.88

Thanks for the help!

Holy crap, those hard courses at once, it’s all okay. I believe Physics-Mechanics is 1st semester ?
Because Eng. Geology has only selective students applying (less than 10 each year) you’re likely to get accepted with that GPA.
