is it strange if I get a recommendation from my employer from one of the work experiences I listed?

nope. not weird at all

but will this rec be an advantage ?after all it is not connected to education at all

You might want to check with admissions at your target schools. Requirements vary quite a bit. Some colleges ask for recommendations from teachers of academic classes only for example. If you already have a solid academic reference or two then a letter from your employer might show another side of your personality.

The advice to check with the college is a good one. However some schools discourage non-academic recs.

Let's say you work at a nursing home, and your employer can speak to the facts that you've shown great patience working with difficult elders. That's a good thing, and not necessarily something that would show up in a teacher's recommendation. <use that="" as="" an="" example="" of="" any="" recomendation="" can="" speak="" to="" you="" and="" your="" attributes=""></use>

But if the rec is just "angel18 was on time, and hasn't given me any big problems", that's less useful.

Good luck!

i see your point..the thing is that my rec is from my employer in a huge toy shop, I've worked in a clothes shop also(this is my family's business)..so do you think this is kind of relevant because my job is somehow connected with how I communicate and deal with people..it's quite a skill to be good at convincing and making people buy stuff(making more money, making your boss happy:))..and since i' want to study business at college I really think that my experience with trade will be useful..do you think so ?

anybody ? :(

Again, check with your target schools for the best advice. Do your applications specify recs from academic teachers? IMO you're best off following the whatever guidelines are provided. If you already have solid teacher recs and want to send an additional work ref it probably wouldn't hurt. This link might interest you.
