This is my situation:
When I was in high school during the summer of 2011, I took elementary chemistry at my local cc, which is a non transferable class. Currently, this class is UC transferable and I received a D in it. When I talked to my counselor the countless times, he told me that non transferable classes are not counted under the UC GPA or IGETC.
I was always under the impression that whatever class isn’t listed on the IGETC, isn’t transferable but that’s not the case. In fact, alot of classes are UC transferable; even ones like Hip Hop, PE, and non academic/chill classes.
So when making my UC App, I listed Elementary Chemistry and the grade I got: D
Well, I got in to UC Davis/SD/ SB/ LA. The thing is, when I was looking over the credit courses for UC Davis, I noticed that Elementary Chemistry class I took is transferable.
So I was confused. Isn’t it an automatic rejection if I have a D in a transferable class. I was accepted to all these colleges and the admission offers who admitted me clearly saw my grade in Elementary Chemistry.
I’m not sure what to do. Do I call and let them know that I got a D during my Junior Year in highschool, or do I just continue on with submitting my transcripts. Most problems for people are the D’s and F’s they get the Spring before their transfer but for me, I put my D on my UC App. People reviewing it had months to look at my grades and determine eligibility so I’m not sure if this should be a problem I should bring up. The provisional contract states very clearly the terms but my situation already shows that I put the information down for everyone to see.
I’m really anxious and nervous about this. I always followed the igetc and assumed that whatever class isn’t listed on the IGETC isn’t academically transferable to UC’s. Obv, that wasn’t the case and the information I got was wrong.
Advice pls ;___;?
