Stress Reduction

With finals and the end of semester fast approaching, my friends and were thinking of ways to relieve stress.

On Friday night at about 9:45 we decided to hop in a car and drive west until the sun rose. We go to school in central Massachusetts and ended up driving all the way to Ohio, about 60 miles from Cleveland. Ate breakfast at a diner/laundromat/banquet hall. Then drove all the way back to Massachusetts.

It was the most amazing experience of my entire life.

cool story bro.

Cigarettes = instant stress relief but I doubt you want the health risks associated with that (trust me, don’t get hooked)

Hookah’s pretty nice though, just get herbal shisha and you aren’t inhaling tobacco or nicotine or any of that nasty stuff. Very relaxing. Some friends and I spent a couple hours at a hookah lounge last night and we were so mellow afterward. You can even get studying done.

Marijuana.

DCHhurricane. That is actually a myth, Hookah is actually more dangerous than cigarettes. Water in no way filters the vapor (that is simple chemistry). Look at this link from the Mayo Clinic: [Hookah smoking: Is it safer than cigarettes? - MayoClinic.com](Hookah smoking: Is it safer than cigarette smoking? - Mayo Clinic)

Want to reduce stress? Go to the gym.

Wow, I’ve always wanted to do that. Just go on a random road trip, but I’m so anal - I’d probably end up planning out everything (foregoing the “random” part) and end up stressing myself out more.

That sounds like so much fun, OP. I love doing that kind of stuff.

@Charlie yeah tobacco shisha is bad for you, but herbal shisha is different.

OP, I will definitely have to try that. I’ve always wanted to go on a spontaneous and random road trip too. Unfortunately, most of my friends aren’t so adventurous.

@DCHurricane. Herbal Shisha is also bad for you it contains tar and carcinogens: [Powered by Google Docs](http://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&q=cache:wlStF_yK5H8J:www.tobaccofreeu.org/pdf/Hookah.pdf+herbal+shisha+risks&hl=en&gl=us&pid=bl&srcid=ADGEEShX-qC3Vr9vzfWQNoKQlZd1qRAGcPB0m5KyCxECVENGT9llDgzUcKd7A-WMaffRCedR5_qa_lsv7qy5jX8WUqx7vH4Y8RWYSI5GpvoW7kjzFQUzkQn_D1NQfzPk4DWUkU_QsSQP&sig=AHIEtbRSZXtqqXgB455OBuad8MO7-zrAtg)

Trust me when I say this (I am a firefighter so I have lots of training in this area): All smoke is toxic and carcinogenic no matter what its source is. Did you know the smoke from firewood is more carcinogenic than that of cigarettes? Even marijuana smoke is bad and contains carcinogens and tar.

Oh.

To hell with it, we’re all gonna die :/

“Even marijuana smoke is bad and contains carcinogens and tar.”

And that’s why we put the marijuana in our brownies and on our waffles ;)

CC = Stress Reducer LOLOL

Weed money helps fund terrorists. If you smoke marijuana you support terrorism.

The article you linked to made no claim that water doesn’t act like a filter. It made the argument that, even though water filters the smoke, the reduced amount of toxins is insignificant in comparison to the increased volume of inhaled smoke. Simple chemistry, huh? I actually think it’s more of a physics problem.

I would argue that if the reduced amount of toxins is insignificant, for the purpose of this conversation it does not act as a filter.

Whether or not it acts as a filter is actually pretty unrelated to this conversation (lol). DANG. I just can’t help myself… I need to stop coming here x_x;

Yay for thread-jacking!

Watching a favorite show on TV and eating a dinner you really like.

It is physics and chemistry I guess… But solution filtration is more chemistry, but then again all chemistry relates to physics at some level.
