The deadline is in a few days!!! and I still haven't wrote anything for the optional essay.
I've been trying to write it for the past few days and days and I really can't come up with anything but I don't want to Not submit it which would give off an impression that I dont really care about this school. I hope there was a supplement required with a topic. That would be easier for me.

help help help?!

Could I recycle a supple essay from another school that I've been accepted to?!

I am SO STRESSED AND MY CHRISTMAS sucks right now.

AWWW no don’t let your christmas suck! I just submitted my WM app yesterday (working all christmas eve) and I did do the optional essay. I like it because you can do almost anything. BE CREATIVE. the fact that its ‘optional’ means that it probably won’t be used against you if it’s not good so take a risk. Take a break, watch a movie, and then sit by your computer and write, and dont let yourself stop untill you’ve written 500 words about yourself.
and if it still sucks…at least you have something.
MERRY CHRISTMAS AND GOOD LUCK

W&M Admissions really stresses getting to know the student and seeing that they love to learn. I personally submitted a webpage (you couldn’t upload anything but .doc when I did it) with an animation that I had made showing my diverse interests and activities. This probably hurt me as it was horrible, looking back, but I really liked it at the time.
Good luck!

yea i know its opitional except I just really want to show them that I am interested in this school…its just that I really seriously truly have no idea what to write about when it comes to “FEEL free to write anything” essays…
I have an essay in mind that I am thinking of reusing but dont know if this is appropriate…anyone willing to look at it please?

Calm down. It’s going to be okay. Don’t ask anyone else to read your essays for content (proofing for grammatical errors is fine). The essay is the only part of your college application that you have free reign over. Why would you want that uninhibited sample of your personality to be combed over and stifled by someone else?

William and Mary prides itself on the individuality and creativity of its students. The Admissions office really wants to get to know you, in your purest form. As others have stated, anything goes! Don’t believe me? Check out the video that the WM admissions staff put together about the supplemental essay.

There are no rules. There are no “right” topics, approaches, angles, or tones to use in your essay. Find that quirky, hidden, creative spot within you and let it guide you! I know it’s there; You are applying to William and Mary for goodness sake!
