So I just moved to a very good school district from my old school which was a joke compared to here. The classes here are way harder and as you can imagine moving to a significantly harder school junior year didnt settle well with my grades. The semester just ended and I have a 3.8 weighted gpa.
This is what my schedule looks like:
Psychology
AP US history
Spanish 3
FST (functions stats and trig)
Honors European Lit
AP Chemistry
Orchestra

My extra curriculars are tennis, piano/bass, girl scouts and a bunch of clubs.
I know I'll improve my GPA second semester since now I know what I'm in for but someone please tell me how im looking? And my chances of getting into UCI? (I had a 3.8 gpa sophomore year as well)
I'm super depressed because I was 1% away from an A in Spanish which would've pushed me to a 4.0.
Super stressed
Please help

When you apply to colleges your senior year, they will only have your high school transcripts through your junior year. Weighted vs. un-weighted gpa really doesn’t matter. Your school will report both and the college will convert them to whatever scale they use. They will look at the end result, so if they see that you improved through the year, that is actually viewed as a positive. I was always told by the colleges that I visited that they liked to see steady improvement. Also, make sure that you take some more AP classes your senior year. Colleges want to see that you challenged yourself. Have fun.
