So, I’m currently taking my finals and my current classes are:
Spanish 3- A (93%)
AP English- B+ (88%)
AP Stats- B+ (89%)
Honors Precalc- B+ (88%)
CIS (college in school) American History- A (94%)
CIS Physics- B (84%)
I really feel stressed out that I’m on the verge for three classes and I know I won’t be able to get an A in any of those I got a 4 on my APWH last year. I really want to study pre-med and become a doctor but will these grades get me anywhere?
I’m a junior and I know its really important this year, my unweighted GPA is 3.7 and I took my ACT already and got a 31 on my first one, can someone please reassure me because I’m stressing out about my future, I really don’t want to let my parents down… I’ve been taking the hardest classes our school offers, I’m involved in our schools student government, our city’s student council member, and volunteering at a hospital, I had a job throughout semester one of this year as well. I just want someone to give me advice or their opinion on how I’m doing. Please.
IVY league is not everything. After a few years of college and exerience things level out. My advice would be to focus 4 classes u want A’s in and then rotate that arround each quarter.
I don’t have any interest in Ivy but I want to go to the Univeristy of Minnesota- Twin Cities and into the College of Biological Science but I feel like my GPA will hold me back.
Seriously? Read what you just said, also individuals would die to have those grades, trust me.
Take into consideration of state schools and possibly (depending on your situation, usually financially although there are a lot of scholarships…) even community colleges as back ups. There is nothing wrong with them at all. Just to let you know, undergraduate school is dramatically less important than what medical school you go to. Would you rather have to employ a person that got a, for example, a B.S. in Biology from state and went to medical school to Harvard, or would you rather have the opposite? Also the top tier schools make your salary a teeny bit more, if any. People say Ivies and such of those popular schools are the best because a lot of companies visit to those schools and come knocking on their door to hire those people. But, it really depends on the individual yourself…keep that in mind.
Back to the subject, if you’re instate of UM Twin Cities, I guarantee you’ll get accepted. Out of state? Idk, Twin Cities is tough. Most state schools are seriously tough to get in if you’re out of state, if you want to go to out of state, I advise to look at privates instead.
Good luck fellow junior!
Yes you will get somewhere if you make the right decisions and blah blah blah, you should know by now. You have a 2nd chance at community college if you aren’t satisfied with your college choices too.
only grade i would stress over is the CIS Physics honestly lol…
