Hello all,
I currently am in my sophomore year of college. My freshman year I decided to go to a small to middle sized private catholic college called Duquesne University, and while i didn’t hate it, i thought there was something better for me, that would give me more options for my major, give me more clubs to join, and more people to meet. This school ended up being a very large state school, The University of Pittsburgh (35,000 vs. 9,000), and i was very excited to transfer being that i already have friends there that i knew from high school and that i would still be very close (3 miles) away from my old school so i could still see my old friends.
Classes started at my old school two weeks ago, and classes began today at my new school. The transition wasn’t very hard for me because i know people here and am already familiar with the campus BUT right now I’m really missing my old school. I’ve come to realize that the grass isn’t always greener on the other side and that i really miss the smaller class sizes and campus feel versus the large class sizes and city campus that pitt offers.
Another reason I’m indifferent about my change is because of my schedule. At duquesne i was a business major, but here i am undecided. My classes are very random and i feel like they aren’t going to contribute to me getting into a school i want within pitt.
I know it has only been the first day of classes, but I’m really really considering withdrawing from pitt during the add/drop period (ends 9/11/2015) so i can get the full amount of tuition back i have payed pitt and go back to duquesne before it would be too late to switch back into the first semester. Im really torn and upset and any other emotion you can imagine, so ANY advice you would offer would be very very very much appreciated. Thank you
