"Strongly Recommended" SAT Subject Tests

I have a 31 ACT composite, 670 US History, 640 Biology, 630 Math 2. Many of the schools I am applying to “strongly recommend” submitting subject tests, including Ivy League schools. My scores are low, but should I send them anyway? If I send them to some schools but not others, do I still have to self-report them on the Common App?

They stronly recommend the tests, but accept some students without them every year. Given your scores, I suggest you don’t send them.

Strongly recommended means those students who can’t afford to take the test don’t have to. Obviously you can afford to take the test and they will consider that you didn’t send any. That’s not a definite out of the pool but you’ll be at the bottom to start.
