I’m at the end of the second semester of my Junior year of high school with two AP classes. I started off with a 69% in both AP classes the first semester but now have a 80% at the end of the second semester. This is also my first year of taking any AP classes. My question is, do colleges like to see big improvements even if you started off with a low grade? I’ve never had a D before in my life and I’ve always had A’s and B’s.
My daughter’s transcript only shows the final grade.
That’s what I’m hoping my school does. I’m working really hard to have at least a B+ by the end of the year. Thank you!
If you want to know what your HS includes on the transcript sent to colleges you must to talk to your guidance counselor.
If you work hard and do well on the AP exam, that is another way to demonstrate that you ultimately mastered the material. It doesn’t entirely make up for a weak grade, but it tells a better story than a weak grade on its own or an A with a 2.
@happy1 is right - how your school reports grades is up to the school.
I will definitely talk with my counselor. Thank you!
