Struggling to Find Scholarships

Are your parents married, Calicash? Is this financial issue going to be an issue?

@thumper1 Yes, they are married. My dad is just a bit more reasonable to work with than my mother is.

@CaliCash‌

Right now, which school is the cheapest and how much is it?

It is hard to say whether it is worth the effort or not. If you have loan amount to be offset by scholarships, it still worth it.

@calicash if there is a more affordable school that you haven’t applied to, I believe your parents can talk to the school about the transcript limitation. It sounds like your dad is willing to help you sort out costs and options.

Good luck and it would be helpful for you to post info on the school differences in cost to you at this point, and what you plan to study. And where you will be going with it all sorted out.

I would work part-time, ex as a server, simply to make good money (I did) and not work so much but be able to commit to school. There are so many sites with scholarships, but I like to focus on scholarships that not many students apply to. I like the external scholarships. I have been searching for scholarships for months and scholarship sites can be overwhelming, but I found so many external scholarships that are not on those sites (although a few are). Also when I search for scholarships, I avoid putting my major because some sites will only search for scholarships with that major and will exclude other scholarships that are for general studies. You will get a bigger list of eligible scholarships. Those that want to avoid multiple applications, ScholarshipOwl is new and one app applies you to all elig scholarships.

Here is a great link with many of those external scholarships: http://www.phoenix.edu/tuition_and_financial_options/scholarships/external-scholarships.html

I know that searching for scholarships can be stressful, but best of luck and hope I helped a little.

Most (but not all) scholarship deadlines have passed, so its a moot point.

Most of our local ones are this month into JUNE, actually.

Many are in March or may. Still time.

The local ones are usually pretty small-- maybe $500ish - $1000 maybe. Hopefully the OP can apply to several and win them.
