Stuck in Community College and Standing Out (in a bad way...)

Ever since attending Community College in NJ, after being kicked out of NYU, it feels as though people are giving me looks at CC, looks that imply that I am out of place somehow, that I don't belong here.
People at CC assume I'm smart and wonder why I attend CC.
These are people that I have just met, therefore, they are probably basing their assumptions on outward appearances. Does this mean I have a possibly nerdy vibe about me?
It is somewhat of a disadvantage that people have these high expectations from me, as in assuming that I am smart and have it all togethebr, because really, I do not believe that I am as bright as strangers make me out to be. In fact, it gets quite annoying...

What about a person's outward appearance would make you assume that they are bright/smart? And for the record, I do not wear glasses or anything outlandish. I would describe my style as down to earth and muted.

Please help!

Well… maybe you really are smart (I’m not talking Einstein smart, I’m talking naturally bright)? Maybe they just figure that smart people don’t belong in CC?

People automatically stereotype me as ‘smart’ but that’s just 'cuz I’m Indian AND have glasses (double cursed, ugh).

If you’re Asian that might explain it. Or maybe you have an impressive vocab???
Maybe you have a lot of pure common sense (you’ll be surprised how hard it is to find!)?
Maybe you just give wise advice? You dress smart? Ugh, there are SO many things!!

Describe yourself. That might help.

do you wear khackis, button-up shirts and look pale? Also being quiet and looking serious all the time will make people think you’re deep.
