Student ambassadors program

i am a junior in high school, and i received a letter in the mail about the Eisenhower Australia/ New Zealand. i am not sure if it is worth the money, i know it will cost up to $2000 and am unsure if i agree to pursue this trip if it will look good on my college app? also, i don't know the exact amount of money it will cost....so, any one with experience about this ? please help, it will be greatly appreciated :) !

Some people have enjoyed the program, others think it is over priced. As far as helping with college application, it will not help other than showing that you did something other than sitting around playing video games all summer. This is because it is not a selective program and acceptance is really only based on whether or not you can afford to pay for it.

This topic has been discussed many times in the past, so do a Search to find more threads, or go to the Summer Programs forum.

It will not help college applications and it is quite expensive ($6000 for mine) but I went and I loved every minute of it. One of the best decisions of my life. While it may not directly help college applications, maybe you can somehow turn it into a way to help. Maybe you could start a business to fundraise for the trip?

Or maybe you could just fundraise for a local charity.

thnks heretosucceed, its definitely a different but a great approach for handling this situation, so you suggest i do a fundraiser for the trip?
