I went to JHU today but there weren't many students there because of fall break. What are the students like? Artsy, athletic, preppy? Liberal, conservative? Pre-profession or more laid back?

you’d honestly find a group of people who fit all of those descriptions.

^Yeah he’s right, the student body here is pretty diverse but from my experience I’ve met three types of people. There are the really hardcore engineering/pre-meds who live in the library. There are the humanities majors who are very relaxed and sociable. And then there are the athletes who are extremely laid back. I know these seem like stereotypes of the respective groups but this has generally been my experience so far.

Are there students that are interested in the arts, like theatre and dance and whatnot? I could tell people were into athletics when I visited but I was unclear about the arts.

You will find plenty of people interested in the arts, and plenty who are not. If you are concerned about finding people with interests similar to yours, stop worrying.

I would echo Bonanza. There are plenty of people here that you can get along with. Worry about academics first, people you will like and get along with are always part of the package wherever you go. I would not really agree with aruariandance, there are plenty of people are are hard working or laid back in all social and campus groups. Just take some time and you will find much more to the student body than meets the eye.
