Just found the student bulletin online, which says all students are responsible for reading and understanding it. Will a hard copy of this be sent to new students, or are they supposed to read it online?

Hey, what’s this? Would you provide a link, please?
TIA

I’m not wise enough to know how to imbed links, but I found it on the wfu.edu parents page, under the headline “things parents should know about student responsibilities”. It is a 200 + page book.

downloaded it for my daughter this weekend, should be getting a hard copy in a few weeks… Here’s the link:

[WFU | Wake Forest College | Undergraduate Bulletin](http://college.wfu.edu/academics/undergrad_bulletin.html)

I am kind of surprised at how little D has received from WF. They had better get a move on, 5 weeks and we are on our way to NC. DeacPar- did you call to ask if they would be getting the bulletin in the mail? I don’t really want to use up $50 in printer ink to download it.

I’m pretty sure you either get a copy in the mail or during orientation, at least that’s how it used to work. If you don’t have one before orientation I’d ask when you get there.

You don’t necessarily have to read the whole thing right now, but there are important sections to know and understand especially when registering for classes, deciding on majors/minors, study abroad, etc. It’s useful information, but I’d say the majority of students don’t read or really understand it. When I was at Wake I was on an Academic Committee and the number of cases we had where students just didn’t understand the bulletin was appalling.

Me too. I asked Son about it and he tells me the email communication is rather busy. Plus, the newstudents.wfu.edu site seems to get frequent updates.

Merry, have your D check her Wake email account a few times per week and keep an eye on the new student website. I was pleasantly surprised yesterday when I mentioned the student ID photo upload to Son and he replied, “yeah, I already did that.”

Picture me thinking “who are you and what have you done with my real kid?”

DougBetsy - loved your post about your son! I have had many of those same moments with my 20 year old son!!

Last year - son rcvd a copy of the student bulletin the first day during orientation. Just keep an eye on the new student website - that gets updated frequently and everything you need is on there. I remember a health form and lots of academic paperwork - re potential first semester classes and first year seminars. He had to write an essay about his expectations for Wake and send that in. There was also something he had to do for his freshman advisor and the language placement test. He was doing most of this in August.
