Hey! I am running for Treasurer next year (apparently VP is off-limits). How can I win the election? There are no speeches. It is just a school-wide student vote. I am hanging posters, but how do I gain votes from people I do not know personally? Thanks!
I have no background here. But I strongly suspect that you’ll need to have a large-- and appropriate-- online presence.
Why not speak to the current officeholders in your school? And the faculty moderator?
Give out a candy or food of some sort. A way to a high schoolers heart is with food. We had an election and someone gave out packs of gum as a campaigning tactic and she won even though the person she was running against seemed more qualified
Talk to everyone and anyone! Smile at anyone you pass in the hall! Ask your friends to spread the word and to ask their other friends to spread the word!
@hayisforhorse ‘s advice is a great idea. Make sure that everyone knows you are friendly and trustworthy and they’ll vote for you. Also make your posters eye catching and hang them up in public spaces within your school. That tends to help a bit
This is how my school runs their elections too so from my experience this works
