My application to join the student council was denied. What can I do to improve my chances of getting accepted next year?
Is student council at your school something that your fellow students elect you to, or is it something that you submit a paper application to? If it’s the latter, who reviews your application to decide whether you make it in, and what content do you have to put in your application?
I would talk to the adviser (teacher) of the student council and say that you were rejected this year, but are wondering what they are looking for so you can work on it for next year. Also make sure to volunteer to help out for school activities
Definitely talk to the SC advisor. Additionally, Student Councils typically need volunteers for their projects, you might offer to help out with those. In general, being a helpful, dependable, respectful school community member tends to get noticed and rewarded. What about volunteering in the library, open houses or during sporting events? (You actually might find something you like doing more than being on student council, but being an active helpful person does get noticed.)
