Student Discount--MacBook

So far as I can tell, the discount and iPod/printer deals are available only to those enrolled in college. The desktop computer my rising high school senior daughter uses is on its last legs, and I'd like to replace it with a MacBook that she can then use through college. My son is enrolled at college now, and he could buy the laptop in his name to secure the discount/deals, but I'm wondering if having the laptop and Applecare plan in the name of someone other than the main user could present a problem when a need for tech support arises and it's clear that the Susie who calls isn't the Steve who got the discount. Am I worrying over nothing?

As long as you can give the exact name of the person on the account, usually it's not an issue.

We have four Apple systems. One was through our son's college id and the other three were bought with the homeschooling discount. I know a guy that claims the education discount because he sends his kid to a private school and does some homeschooling. And I know someone else that claims the educational discount because his wife is on the local school board. There's a limit on the number of systems that college students can order per year.
