Student Employment

Hello,

I'm going to be transferring to Penn this coming Fall. I'm looking for a job, but since I'm unfamiliar with the job scene at Penn, I thought I'd ask - which jobs currently on the website ( Student Employment Office) will allow me to sit and study for a majority of my hours? Next semester, I'll look for a job with more responsibilities, but for now, I'd just like to focus on my school work.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Do you have work-study? Apparently that makes it easier to get employed.

In general, any library or office assistant job will have a lot of down time.
There are far more work-study jobs than non-work study jobs though, and the majority of jobs that are a lot more slack (e.g. more homework time) seem to be work study (at least based on what I saw when I was applying for a job.)

Oh darn, no I don’t have work-study. Well, I suppose I’ll apply for a bunch and see what I get. Any specific suggestions?

In terms of specific positions? They’re all pretty much the same…library ones I hear are pretty popular. Apply early/as quickly as you can after seeing the posting, as jobs go quickly around here.
