So I got an email telling me about an overnight program at UCSC and I was interested in going to the one called "A Step Forward". It's free and there's a bus pick up and everything so I'm really excited about it. The only thing I'm worried about is that it says it focuses on the Filipino experience on the campus. I'm half Filipino half hispanic, but I associate with my Filipino roots mainly. I'm just scared that I'll be uncomfortable with a bunch of full Filipinos while I'm just a halfie. Also I'd prefer expanding my horizons instead of just focusing on the "Filipino experience" at UCSC. Should I go or what?

The experience will expand your horizons! The friends you will make there will make the move in process at UCSC so much easier. That is the major benefit of these pre-move-in programs. :)

Alright I feel better about this now. Thanks for the reassurance! I just registered a couple minutes ago. I’m really hoping this experience will help me step out of my comfort zone.
