The main reason im stressed out about this is because ill not be able to visit any of the above mentioned schools but just instinctively like all three. Although i do want good academics(all 3 are soooo good , i think its unfair to compare), im also looking for a place with an active social life. ill be undertaking engg , and am not sure which of these schools has the best campus, social life etc. Ive heard that students at georgia tech are most of the times too concerned with acadeemics plus he guys to girls ratio is unfavourable? :p.
Please advice.
Thanks!!!
I wouldn’t recommend U Chicago for engineering.
@NavalTradition what about natural sciences at uchicago?
Natural sciences are amazing at U of C, physics especially. Note though that the emphasis tends to be very theoretical, as with U of C’s programs generally.
But, if you don’t like what you’ve heard about Georgia Tech social life, I’m not sure you’ll be thrilled with U of C social life either.
Thanks!
Cornell definitely has a “work hard, play hard” mentality. Ithaca is the #1 college town in the nation, and people go out every night. There are also hundreds of clubs you can join; you by no means have to go out and party all the time. But the atmosphere is there if you want it.
In terms of having an “active social life” with a good ratio:
Cornell >>> GTech >>>>>>>> UChicago
Thanks a lot people
