Student life at CU Boulder

i just got accepted to cu@b and i just want to know the perks. heres a couple questions
-is it hard to find parties?
-what kind of recreation is there? rockwall snowboarding etc
-whats the climate like?
-what are the easter egg perks no one knows about? i.e. at oregon state there is a gymnastics center that students can use for free before 10am.

also what are the downsides?

any info will be helpful
thanks

Congratulations on your acceptance.

Parties- No problem. Freshmen are all housed in dorms. Lots of official and unofficial activities. Students are tolerant. The University is not.

Recreation - Well equipped rec center, with full sized ice rink and climbing wall. Large, intermural sports program for all abilities. Outdoor adventure programs and equipment rental. Eldora ski resort only 30 miles away has $ 149 dollar student season pass. Hiking and biking in Boulder Open Spaces; rock climbers all over the Flatirons and nearby canyons

Climate - Sunny and surprisingly mild. No humidity. Some snow of course but it doesn’t hang around due to the dry air. Occasional very high winds.

Perks- lots of student discounts. eg Wells Fargo will give a free season pass to Winter Park/Copper Mt just for opening a new account with $100; Meal tickets good at any housing and dining facility, of which there is a wide variety- best is C4C. Sewell Hall’s is open til 2am. Fresh made hamburgers at Farrand to die for; concerts at Red Rocks!

Downside - bicycle thefts and accidents are common; Not much diversity in the mostly affluent student body; off campus housing expensive; professors expect you to go to class
