<p>Can anyone tell me how prominent downtown Baltimore is in JHU student life? How much is there to do in Baltimore? Also, how accessible is Washington D.C. from the homewood campus?</p>

<p>Eh… Maybe I went out less than the average freshman at Hopkins, but it wasn’t that prominent, IMO. A lot of the student life is either on campus or at the frat houses. The few blocks around campus are mainly used for their restaurants. Some people will take the bus to the mall, Fells Point, Hampden, or the Inner Harbor on the weekends and on holidays. And people can do community service in the city or volunteer at local hospitals and clinics. But close by, there’s not that much to do. </p>
<p>IDK that much about going between Baltimore and D.C., but I think it’s just a bus ride and a $7 MARC train ride one way, at least on the weekdays…</p>
