Student Loan Debt

How much debt is too much to go to a top public school, such as the University of Michigan? The non repayable (scholarships, grants, workstudy) aid that they gave me is just under half of the in-state tuition. After what my parents can afford to pay for my education, I would have about $20,000-$30,000 of debt after four years. Is this too much debt? I'm an engineering major, if that makes any difference. My family doesn't have any experience with College debt, and my parents are a little worried.

Thanks
-Ben

thats pretty good aid that they're giving you (seeing how stingy Michigan has become). Work during the summer and make around 3000 per summer and that debt is down 12000 dollars. Paying the rest probably won't be too hard.
