Man, is anyone frustrated with loans like I am? Seriously, I chose Nelnet instead of SallieMae and then when I was trying to start my loan application, my lender wasn't listed...So I've been trying to call UCLA Student Loan Services but it's busy. So then I called Nelnet and this (really nice) lady informed me that UCLA prefers SallieMae and I have to contact UCLA and ask them if I can use NelNet and that I have to send in a paper application that takes a couple weeks to process...And now I'm thinking of just switching to SallieMae.

This is very troublesome and difficult. =(

Is anyone having this trouble too? I'm just planning to call super early tomorrow...Any advice guys?

Unrelated, but I recall calling up the Financial Aid office a month ago repeatedly only to be on hold forever. Im not very patient, especially with static-y hold music. They always mentioned their office hours during the automated intro, including a 2 hours gap which I assumed to be a lunch break. I called back the next day immediately when their lunch break ended and was able to talk to someone within a minute.

Try figuring out when they come back from lunch. Not only will you be closer to the front of the phone call line, but they will be more likely happier to assist you because they’re refreshed.

thanks sid3000, you’re freakin’ awesome 'cause that made me feel better. i just want things to work out smoothly, i’m sure everyone feels the way i do, that’s why it’s so damn busy all the time. so imma give it another shot tomorrow.

^ and babygurl…ahahaha! you are funny. sigh, but life isn’t that easy, right?

OHMYFREAKINGOSH. Guys, now I have problems.

I went back into my efan and they reseted it and I was thinking, cool. But it keeps saying that I’m living off campus and I’m definitely not and I can’t log into my housing!! =( It says that I’m not living on campus. What the heck is going on!!?!?!

Of all the lenders listed, who give better terms for Stafford subsidized loans. Citibank used to charge 50 or 80 dollars as handling fees or something.
