Student loans without a cosigner

I am the parent and the same situation. So you think I should apply for the Parents Plus loan and then get denied and our child will qualify more for the Stafford loan?

12/2005 to 9/2011; That HAS to be some kind of record!

Okay, quick, before it gets taken down as a violation, do read the link in post 44–hilarious translation! As for the post above–recommending payday loans for college? Oy! This thread really needs to go back to the graveyard, though it is a bit nostalgic looking back to the days of easy credit…

It’s a funny translation, but when you do a whois lookup on the domain name, it is registered to someone in Delhi, India. I sure wouldn’t share any personal financial information with this site – can you say “identity theft”?

Pay Day loans? Seriously? How can anyone even suggest that. They are one of the biggest rip offs around, targeting the poorest and most uninformed in our society, and using using predatory practices and usurious interest rates

WARNING: DON’T CLICK ON LINK IN POST 44!

I just got hit with malware after clicking around on some of the links on the web site in post #44. It got past my Malwarebytes and AVG antivirus programs. I had to do a system restore to fix the problem.

I’m going to ask the moderators to remove the link.

EDIT: The post was already removed, and the remaining posts have been re-numbered. It was before post 44.

Thank you! I did NOT dig up this thread!

@corainheaven, yes, there are loans that don’t require a co-signer. I believe in this thread people are talking about extra loans, over and above the standard federal loans. Those do require a cosigner.

I wouldn’t trust anything on that website - it’s poorly put together and the grammar is pretty horrible. Legitimate banks set up much more professional outfits.

Truth of the matter is, it’s extremely difficult to get a private loan without a cosigner or some credit history. Nobody wants to lend five-figure sums to 18 year olds (or anyone of any age, really) without any indication that they’re going to pay them back.

Susgeek, do you study in ESF?
do you know Dr. Winter?
