Student Record Book?

I got this mailing to send my picture and my interests to this company that publishes all the pictures of the incoming class of 2010 at my college in a book and distributes them on orientation day for $16.

Is this a worthwhile endeavour or has the prevalence of facebook basically made this completely useless? Cause if there were someone I'd want to know about, I would just look them up on facebook right?

dont bother buying it...unless when you graduate you want to compare those who entered school with you to who actually leaves with you

and you'll get more out of facebook.com than an actual facebook

yeah - facebook.com renders the actual freshman facebook obsolete

I think the freshman record book is essentially a freshman year book.. I got one my freshman year (granted it was before facebook really caught on). If I met someone in a class & couldn't quite remembert thier name, I could flip through the pages till I saw thier pic. Not everyone joins facebook.. and not everyone submits info to the record book, so it probably won't be that useful.

yea i am not going to submit my pic but i do have (and love) facebook.

ill probably submit my pic... the Alums are paying for ours though so its a "free" gift... yay alums!

Even if you don't want to buy the book yourself, I think you should think about sending in your pic and information, so that the students who pay for the student record really get something for the money...That's at least what I am goign to do.
