I got some mail about a book that features everybody's picture in it, and it's asking me to send in a pic and order a copy. It's postmarked from the University Activities Center, and it's by Herff Jones. Did any of you receive this, and is it a scam, or should I actually get a copy ($32) ?

i just noticed another similar thread, but also with no responses.

Hey I got one today. I don't think it's directly from the University. Is anyone doing it?

Posted on this in class of 2010...don't bother with the record. 'tis a scam.

Is that the New Student Record? I got mine for the class of 2009, and it's the dumbest thing ever. Do NOT buy that. Facebook is better. That book is like buying a yearbook without knowing who anyone is. You'll also eventually discover that a lot of the people you do get to meet and become friends with aren't in that book. If we're talking about the same thing, then it's a waste of money.

lol...yeah..its basically buying a hard copy of facebook...don't do it...

KB

Herff Jones is a commercial photographer - does school pictures, yearbooks, etc. I wouldn't say it's a scam, but it does seem that Facebook has replaced it.

This kind of reminds me of Who's Who. I thought Who's Who was a scam too. I never did it and I think I'll have better luck with Facebook.
