Student Reviews vs Princeton Review

I noticed that there are negative comments about Stonehill on the Student Reviews website and that its summary is currently a C+. Princeton Reviews raves about Stonehill and it has made the list for Happiest Students, Beautiful campus, Best Study abroad etc. Would current students please comment on this disparity? Would you say that Princeton Review is the more accurate or not?

I don’t give Student Review too much weight…they tend to have more bad than good, partly because people with a beef tend to want to complain, having a good experience is mostly shared with friends. I haven’t read them all, but it is a religious school, a Catholic school and they practice to some degree, what they preach. They aren’t going to give out birth control and do other things that go against the faith but they also don’t discourage a student from getting it themselves. It’s a choice you make in going there, that you accept what rules they have. Providence has strict rules on opposite sex visiting dorms after hours, you know that going in, can’t complain about it later unless you think all rules are for show.
I heard years ago, Stonehill was a haven for rich, white students, this by an alumni in her 30’s, but she said it has changed and is trying to have a more diverse campus in many ways. My girls know students there now that don’t fit that profile at all.
Our tour guide, who hated her first year, very homesick, loves it now and said overall, roommates are matched pretty well. There will always be some issues though.
I found most of the reviews okay, you just have to know what you are getting yourself in for going in.

Only 20 students participated in the Student Reviews survey. That’s too small a sampling to be anywhere near statistically valid. And keep in mind that those with negative opinions are more likely to participate in a forum like Student Reviews. I’m taking that C+ grade with a huge grain of salt and so should everyone else.
