Student % that live on campus, which is closer to correct number?

We are helping our son look for a new college as a transfer student.

The first resource we looked at was another college website that has a lot of reviews by students and in regards to students that live on campus, it lists that number as 94%, which would be great.(I’m assuming that number is supplied by the University).
With that being said, the second resource we looked at was the U.S. News & World Report college books, the one from 2015 and the latest being the 2017 book. They have students living on campus number at 53% and 57% respectively.

Can anyone Clarify the large differential in these numbers? We would just like to get a more accurate idea of which number is more realistic because based on these percentage and an undergrad enrollment of 3480, thats a difference of 3271 living on campus vs 1983 students that live on campus.

Thank you

CUA themselves say 43 percent of students live off campus. I’m not familiar with the 94 percent number, that would be quite high for almost any campus. Also at CUA I believe they require freshman and sophomores to live on campus.

First-year and sophomore students are required to live on campus unless true commuters living at home. Of the full-time undergraduate population, about 60%-64% live on campus in a typical year. The Catholic University surrounding neighborhood has improved dramatically in the last three years and the volume of attractive (though not cheap) housing very close to campus has significantly increased.
