Not to awkwardly start a thread on orientation weekend or whatever, but I was just wondering how many students at Pomona are California natives. I'm a rising junior from the East Coast and I've been fantasizing about Pomona for a while now, and I'm curious about if I'd feel like kind of an outsider there :P

1/3 of the school are from california, and another 11% are from the northwest

23% are from the northeast

I just dropped my freshman daughter off on Sunday, and in her dorm hallway of 20 students there are only 5 from California. One is from France. A lot of people are from back east.

I’m from out of state, and I don’t feel like an outsider at all. I also like that a lot of my friends are from CA though, because I can stay with them during breaks/easily visit them.

30% of students at Pomona are from California. You will definitely not feel like an outsider being from the east coast.
