Hey all, I just finished up my first year at the university at buffalo. Here's some things you should know before:
Accepted to: Boston College, Michigan State, Clemson, UMass, Binghamton, and Wentworth for architecture.

I live in Boston, MA and have grown up here my whole life

I am a 3rd generation student t UB, by chance.

I loved my first year. I got in with a 3.7 gpa and sat of 1350/1600 and many extra curriculars.

UB is a flagship university of SUNY. This school is over 165 years old, and it shows. South campus is beautiful. Great architecture and exterior spaces and quads. Downtown campus is nice and modern for the med students, and north is great, pretty, and functional. This is a great university, and it's well known in Boston. Dont listen to some students here...it really is a gem for academics. The research here is outstanding. I'm a double major in economics and international trade, which is under the department of geography. It's hard. Classes are rogorous, and UB won't accept many classes from community college or APs unless you have 4's or 5's.

Student association and all the clubs are great. I joined a professional fraternity, am a student legislator, and on the board of directors of true blue. Athletics is a ton of fun, and so is the CFA.

There's so much to do in buffalo, cuz it's a city. Transportation makes it easy to get anywhere you want without a car. Bars, clubs, and nightlife is readily at your disposal...and on a good Saturday night in fall, you'll see 3,000 kids rush down to south for parties.

Overall, I've loved my first year and I can't wait to get back. This is a fantastic school, but I wish the new Yorkers here recognized it. It's ranked 111th by us news, which is in the top 5% of all schools in the nation (over 2,000 schools in the country)
