Study Abroad: France or Italy? (History Major)

I want to be a History professor and teach Ancient Rome so it would be an incredible experience to live in Italy and even get duel-citizenship (my dad was born in Italy so it only takes 3 years).

At the same time, I am learning French in college and-I love the women there as well. And I like the history in France but I cannot emphasize enough that the women in France are my favorite.

I would get the same experiences out of both Countries-I would learn a new language, see great art work, ancient structures, etc. So this makes the decision for me very difficult.

Another thing, since I want to teach Roman History, there is probably a thousand people like me in Italy whom inspire the same passion; whereas in France I might be able to stay there and get a job after my Doctorate degree (Let me know if this is an accurate assumption).

What do you guys think is the better choice for me?

I’m like you (I’m going for European history and teaching). For me, I find Italy to be a more historical location. You got the Renaissance, Colosseum, Pantheon, Carnivale, Leonardo, Raphael, Pompeii, etc.

I was having the same problem with deciding which to visit until I compared all the things I could do in different locations.

I hope some of this helps
