study abroad --> graduate school

I need some advice,

At my school, it is only possible to get transfer credits for study abroad classes. I am taking a short summer study abroad that will amount to only 3-4 credits. I do not need the credits to graduate because I have a lot of Advanced Placement credits from high school, I am just going because I have always wanted to go to Italy to improve my Italian.

My question is, there is a $275 registration fee at my school to register the credits on my transcript. My mom is urging me to pay it because she thinks graduate schools will look favorably on study abroad experience. But then, the grade won't even show up on my transcript so I am wondering if it is a waste of money (I'm paying for it myself and while I have the money, I'm on a tight budget). If I apply to graduate school would I be better off requesting the study abroad school to send a copy of my transcript directly? Do graduate schools look on undergraduate study abroad favorably? As I said, I'm not studying abroad for strategic reasons, just because it's an experience I am excited about.

Thanks!

Graduate schools (in general) couldn’t care less about study abroad.
