How does housing work when you return from study abroad? Our son is hoping to study abroad during Spring 2014 semester. When he returns to campus the following fall, does he lose his spot in the dorm he is in (St. Ed's) and just has to take whatever dorm and roommate they assign him?

He is filling out all his paperwork and this is the only thing that is making him pause regarding study abroad.

Wasn’t a problem for my son . JYA unforgetable experience- a little different from my JYA experience in the 70’s. Back then you went off exploring Europe during Christmas or Spring break by car or train-nowadays every weekend they are flying off on a $39 Easyjet flight. Only thing still the same is the brewery tours are still the number 1 sites to see.

Dorm placement is generally not a problem, especially when they are gone spring semester. He will simply pick a room during the normal room assignment, and in the fall will be back in St Ed’s. It’s a little harder when the student is gone fall semester, because there has to be an opening in the dorm, but generally, there is one student gone in the spring for one gone in the fall, and it works out. He will have a fantastic time!
