Anyone have any information on HPU's study abroad program(s)? Is it hard to study abroad and transfer your credits back to HPU? Does it get in the way of graduating on time?

High Point offers many options for study abroad. My daughter’s friend is spending the semester abroad and my daughter opted for a shorter study. Her (my daughter’s) classwork in a Cross-Cultural study is being done this semester on campus and then the class will travel to several European countries this summer to experience what they learned in the class. Both girls are juniors and will graduate next May. BTW, my daughter’s scholarship gives her $1000.00 toward the cost of study abroad.

Great question! I am a current student, and I have lots of friends who have studied abroad, and they have loved it. They say they would have rather not had it any other way, and High Point University was extremely helpful before, during, and after their study abroad program. With the University being so helpful, you will not get behind or have any issues with credits transferring. Each student is paired with an academic adviser all four years to help plan and prepare for graduating on time with everything the student wants. HPU offers a May term, which is when you can study abroad without missing anything during the regular school year.
