study abroad

How much does studying abroad generally cost? Through this bschool, there is a 3 week study abroad program (to germany or china) that costs $2450..but now that I've been speaking to other people who studied abroad...this seems crazy expensive.

Yeah, the 6-week Oxford Summer Program costs $4,700 PLUS, for me, regular out-fo-state summer term tuition. This does not include airfare or personal expenses. I don't understand why they need to charge FULL Michigan tuition on top of a fully paid program... most other top schools don't do this. It seems they are discouraging people from study abroad.

The OIP financial aid website says scholarships are rare, so I'm hoping for some financial aid.

yeah idk why michigan study abroad is so expensive!

niihla, b-school and LSA study abroad programs are extremely different unfortunately. it sucks for us ross 09'ers that we only have the germany and china option. and yeah, i think it's ridiculously expensive too.. haha.

Michigan is so expensive for OOS'ers. At UIUC, there is NO tuition charge while you are on study abroad, only a $800 registration fee for the semester. At Ga Tech, OOS only pay the in-state tuition rate while on study abroad. Also, both schools have special non-need based scholarships available to help pay for their study abroad programs (to help with travel, living costs, etc.)

Also, both of those schools have fixed tuition for your entire four years, ie, no tuition hikes.
