Study Abroad

I thought it would be fun to talk about something other than early decision notification.... haha

Part of the reason why I'm applying to NYU is because they have the best best best study abroad program and they encourage it so much. I want to major in something with languages and culture (Gallatin here) and so it works out really well for me.

I decided we should talk about whether we plan to take advantage of NYU's great study abroad program or if we've ever done something like it before.

I'll go first. Summer after sophomore year I studied French in France, which totally turned me on to the idea of living in a different country, especially solo. I'm graduating in two weeks and then heading off to Brazil for the semester! If i get into NYU, i probably want to spend a semester in Germany.

ok go

Thanks for distracting us from the decision Calimarc, this waiting thing is killing me.

I have never studied abroad, but I have done community service trips abroad, and I travel out side of the country alot. That is so awesome that you get to spend your last semester of HS abroad. I wanted to do something like that, but my school isnt very flexible. (and my parents are cheap)

I will totally take advantage of study abroad, even if I dont end up at NYU. I want to spend a semester in Israel and a semester in London. I also want to do an internship abroad one summer, because I want to live abroad after college. I like the NYU study abroad program because all of the classes are taught in English, so I dont have to worry about getting really confused. One of the reasons why I applied ED to NYU was the strong study abroad program. My cousin is a senior at NYU, and she just came back from spending the year in Italy, and she loved it. I have been told that it is actually cheaper to study abroad at NYU than it is to study in NY.

oh man brazil!! I hope you have an amazing time there..I have been dying to travel to South America, especially Buenos Aires. If I get into NYU, I'm definitely studying abroad either there or in Madrid..i wanna either major or minor in Spanish so that would work out.

The only time I've been out of the country was this past summer studying in Madrid for three weeks..it was not nearly enough lol..I loved it so much.

Yeah Study Aboard's a big part of my NYU plan too. If I get in, I hope to travel to Britain and do the semester long film program with BBC! It sounds really cool. The film program in Prague sounds good too, I want to do both. Probably one junior year and one senior year, since freshman and sophmore year there's not much time for film majors.

Also want to do a summer session in Tisch Asia at Singapore. :)

If I get in I know that I definitely want to spend a semester in London, I love it there :). I also want to do a semester in Paris if possible. I love how amazing NYU's study abroad program is, I can't wait to take advantage of it if I get in!

I was inform as well that they are top for study aboard.

they have a brochure about it that they'll send you to torment you. ;-)
but yeah, it does sound amazing, I'd love to spend time in london.

I got a specific yellow Tisch Study Aboard brochure that I picked up on the day of their Open House event.
