Study for MCAT or GRE for MD/PhD Dual Degree Program??

I'm interested in the MD/PhD Dual Degree Program. UT Austin has one and so do many other universities.

I am planning on changing my major to BME from ChE. If everything goes right and I finish the Pre-Med track, should i be studying for GRE or MCAT or both?

Each medical school runs their programs differently.

List of all MD/PhD programs: https://www.aamc.org/students/considering/exploring_medical/research/mdphd/applying_md-phd/61570/mdphd_programs.html</a></p>

Baylor, for example: [Application - Medical Scientist Training Program at Baylor College of Medicine](http://www.bcm.edu/mstp/application.html)

Source: google.com, searched “md phd”, 2nd link

Oh and bt-dubs, UT Austin does not have a med school

UT Austin does have a MD/PhD program, actually.
([MDPhD Dual Degree Program at The University of Texas](http://www.mdphd.utexas.edu/))

But do you know what most schools would require for MD/PhD program?
Most would take MCAT and not both right?

Every school runs it differently but the courses for the dual degree programs don’t usually start until later on (~3rd year). So while you may apply for both programs originally, a guest speaker told me that it’s common to apply for the program during MS1/2 at many schools.

Graduate schools normally waive the standardized tests in recognition of the rigor of medical school. So basically you just need to get into med school first. That’s a massive enough challenge on its own.

UT Austin does NOT have a MD/PHD program or a medical school; its branch(es) however, do.

You should be studying for the MCAT, don’t think they would look at GRE.
