Whenever I study, I always have trouble concentrating. I can never study for long periods of time and I would really like some tips on how to get myself to study, and how to do it for a long period of time.

For example, when i needed to study for an AP Econ exam, I kept going onto websites and wasting time.

Any tips you guys could give me? What are your study habits? Thanks.

Unless you’re doing research, it’s probably best to stay away from the computer. If what you’re doing is mind-numbingly boring, try some instrumental music that you’ve heard before(if it’s new or has lyrics you might focus on the song too much).

I like to write a schedule so that I don’t feel like I’m doing anything indefinitely. You don’t have to adhere to it strictly, but it might help.

A lot of studying is sheer willpower, so remember to motivate yourself. Whatever you want to do, keep it in front of you. It could mean keeping an open webpage, a book, a videogame, or your phone in front of you. Refuse to use it until you’ve completed X amount of work and allow yourself to use for Y minutes.

You might find it easier to concentrate if you make sure you have enough sleep. Even if you are well rested, take breaks in moderation.

Best of luck in AP Econ.

Thanks! Any other tips would be much appreciated.
