I’m a rising sophomore at a college in the USA. I’m starting to think about studying abroad for the fall of 2018. I am wondering how competitive the application process is? Right now one of my top choices would be to study at the University of Sydney. On their study abroad website it says you need a GPA between 3.0 and 4.0, I currently have a 3.25. Would having a GPA in that range more or less get my application accepted? Sorry if is a dumb question but I’m very curious about this because it could dictate where I end up applying.
I think it depends on what school you go to, but at my school anyone who wants to Study Abroad, completes all necessary paperwork/applications, and can pay for it (whether it be with financial aid, scholarships, or something else) can go- 100% acceptance rate. I would meet with a study abroad advisers about your options! Good luck! 
Agree with @IvyGirl27: if you are studying abroad through your college (which is usually the easiest to organize and integrate with your degree requirements), they will help you through the process. In general, if you meet the requirements you are fine, though for some very competitive places (such as Oxford, for example), many colleges will have more/higher requirements.
