Studying Abroad in Spain

Hi, I’m planning on studying abroad in Spain this next fall and was trying to figure out where to go. I either plan on going through AIFS or ISA. I’ve been looking a lot at Madrid, but I’m open to more suggestions!
I just wanted to see if you guys could give me some advice and opinions on the cities.
These are the things I’m looking for:
-things to do (like exploring the city and outdoor activities)
-nightlife
-easy to travel

As far as the programs go, I don’t know anyone traveling abroad with me, but I want to travel a lot when I’m abroad. So, I’m kind of nervous about going with no one I know and meeting people who are also trying to travel and have fun while they’re abroad!

Thanks!

Keep in mind that Madrid is a really large city. It is also expensive, like any major city. I really think that ISA does an amazing job as far as prepping kids for going overseas. Salamanca has a really wonderful University, and I have heard great things about Valencia. Everywhere in Spain the social life is great, so even down to the smallest towns, you will not find it lacking!

I would recommend Sevilla. Incredible city, I studied a local linguistics college there in high school and loved it. Very safe and tons of night life.

I highly recommend Salamanca. I feel like it’s underrated, such a great place! I’ve been there last summer and honestly I liked Salamanca more than Madrid
