I'm going to take the biology e/m in the fall. I took biology sophomore year and I'm a senior now, so it's been a while. I bought barron's review book already. But does that book contain all the stuff I need to know? Should I buy one other review book too or maybe look at a biology textbook? The one I'm taking in the fall is kind of my only chance to get a good score b/c college apps are due winter time and I want to be able to include my sat subject test(if the scores are good, of course) in the app. Any other tips and guides on studying for this test would be appreciated!!

Bump bump bump

I’d recommend AP Bio and June testing but you’re on a tight schedule. Some people do well right after a regular/honors bio course after studying out of prep books. depends on how comfortable you are with this subject (eg bio-related ECs make things easier. no bio whatsoever during junior year may hurt.)

I took Bio M in my junior year (took regular bio frosh year and my school didn’t allow you to take AP until senior year). I only used the SAT II reviewbooks for their practice tests, and instead bought the Barron’s 500 flashcards. I typed up all the flashcards (usually on my phone during physics lol), went over them a few times, then did all the practice tests.

I recommend studying for it that way, especially since you have a lot of time. I had to rush through it in the month of May to be prepared for the June SAT IIs

I think you’ll do decent if you feel that you really understand biology and study hard from prep books - I recommend Barron’s. Regular biology goes nowhere near the depth required for the SAT II though, imo.
