What is most efficient way to study biochem metabolism course? For most courses, it's enough to just study and review lecture notes and read the textbook to do well. But that's not the case for the biochem course. If I do that, then they stay disorganized, which is bad for your memory. So I have to make my own organized notes that puts together everything including each step, enzyme, metabolite, etc. The textbook and lecture notes usually have each of these separately and putting them together after digesting them takes up so much time that I have not enough time for other courses. The amount of material is just great. Is there any other better, more efficient way to study for biochem other than taking your own notes?

My biochem course last semester was similar, but that's the only efficient way I found of studying for it. I drew out all the structures and reactions of all the pathways, intermediates, enzyme names, compound names, etc. It was time consuming to do before each exam, but reviewing these notes was better than constantly going through the textbook, lecture slides, lecture notes, etc.

Then I guess I should stick with that way of studying for it. But seriously, the number of hours and sacrifices I put into this biochem course are more than that for calc3 and stats COMBINED.
