How do I study for metabolic biochem? I have Scheffler.

I'm in Scheffler's metabolic biochemistry class. I'm not sure how to go about studying it. He just said to read chapters 1-5. It's like review material. Do you think it's necessary to read these chapters in depth. I don't think it would really be on the tests if it's supposed to be review. Am I supposed just read each chapter? Is that the best way to study for this class? Am I supposed to be doing problems? He didn't really say anything, but to read.

… then you should probably be reading. and understanding.

If it seems like too much to read in depth, then just skim through it, and if anything pops up that looks unfamiliar then read that part more carefully. Anyway, I don’t think you have to worry about this for the rest of the course, because you’re going to start learning about and memorizing all the metabolic pathways soon. Reading the book doesn’t really help for that.
