Studying philosophy at Boston University?

Would you recommend it?
I have heard that the university has a good reputation, but is it good for that particular course?

I have taken a few classes in the philosophy department and enjoyed them very much. The professors are great and the students are typically very passionate about the subject. In fact, I credit my philosophy courses for teaching me much more about writing and argument than any writing course I took here at BU. While I can't compare it to the programs at other schools, I believe it is quite strong.

My son is a dual philosophy/international relations major and is a member of the Philosophy Club. He reports that the philosophy classes are challenging but he is enjoying them, and he really likes the club. You might want to look into BU's "Core Curriculum" program too, which is philosophy heavy and pretty cool. It might be up your alley, as it is for my son.
Good luck!
