Studying

I'm curious about the general work-ethic. How much time would you say the average Emory student spends studying a week if they want to make a GPA of 3.5? Which departments are Emory's strongest? Finally, is there much community feel to Emory? How much do professors seem to care about teaching/how accessible are they?

Thanks!

bump bump ANy EMory students with ideas?

I would have to say that the pre med students study ALL the time. Also, the business school is pretty demanding. For pretty much any other major you will do minimal work if your smart. I probably do about an hour of work a night. Before test though, I usually study about 3 hours a night starting about four nights before the test.

Funny; sounds inaccurate. Non-pre-med science kids study a lot. Enjoy the school, but they do have a lot of work.

i am not saying there is no work, just that as long as you are smart, which if you go to emory, you generall are, you wont b overwhelmed

Kids I am talking about are Emory Scholars, so yes smart, but doing more than an hour of work a day LOL.

How many hours would you say jax?

okay, i am not saying that some kids don't study all the time, but even the scholars that i know are not by any means overwhelmed, im sure your opinion is valid as well, but from what i have seen with my friends, including scholars, the workload is not too heavy

I agree; the work load is workable, there is plenty of time for fun and social things- no idea of the # of hours each day, Ecape. Just more than an hour by a good bit.
